Crafting with the kids

With inspiration from here the kids created their own 4th of July rocks. I only wish that I'd have prepared sooner and gone out to find some great rocks. We settled for rocks we found in our yard... which were pretty small. Next time we're out exploring we will definitely look for nice rocks to paint. The kids are waiting for their creations to dry... so that they can add more paint!

Baby Girl - age 4 1/2

Finneous - Age 6 1/2

Pepe - Age 8

When I uploaded the pictures it was very interesting to see their paint progression by age.

The crafting table.
Happy 4th...

Karmyn linked to you ....

And I was like, "Hmmmmm.... I wonder if I know her real-life friend."

So I scrolled down and found a picture and I thought, "I do! I DO know her real-life friend!"

Hey there, Miss YOU. Love the little patriotic rocks! What a neat idea for those kiddies. I hope you all are well. It's been too long!

Hello, Karmyns "REAL" friend. I am one of those other kinds (the ones she made up in her imagination) from the land down under!

Very nice rock paintings! Nothing I like better than seeing kids being creative!

Congratulations on going public with the blog. Have Fun!

Rockpainting--now there's something we haven't done in a while! Great idea to paint them red/white/blue!

(Karmyn sent me here.)

At first I thought the rocks were just blogs of paint and I wondered how you got them to looking so much like a flag! Hee hee. Cute idea. I found three pictures the other day that my three kids made with their fingers. Each one was a tree trunk with branches that I drew and they painted it with leaves using their fingerprints in green paint. Each child about two years apart and you could see the progression of ability too.
