Now this colorful and soft yarn is on my needles and I'm making a scarf for my sister for her birthday... don't tell her. She'll be headed back to school after the holidays and I'm sure that it will keep her warm.

Colorful Yarn
I found this yarn on clearance at Hancock Fabrics... it was marked down to $4, however, when I checked out they were actually $.50... yes fifty cents... score! I was very excited and tempted to buy every skein in the place, but resisted so that other shoppers would find a great surprise.

A finished scarf...
While Tante was in town, she brought me a "fancy" scarf pattern, taught me how to read it and walked me through it. Well.... I finished it. It was so exciting to finish it within a relatively short time period. I had a little wool left over, so I knit a small version of the scarf for baby girl. I finished that last night.

Pearl 2
My sister-in-law is in town and I forced her to sit down and teach me more about knitting. I've been doing the garter stitch, but I'm ready to move forward. I can now pearl! Yeah for me. I'm now looking for simple patterns that I can use my new found skill on. Learning to pearl was so much easier than I thought it would be. Here is my practice piece... (don't worry, it isn't anything... so if you just asked yourself "What is it?" The answer is nothing... it's just practice :) )
